The Myrtle Mosaic Magazine
I am the creator and creative director of The Myrtle Mosaic, an independent San Diego magazine rooted in community, experimentation, and intentional creativity. The magazine began as a response to the rapid rise of AI and the constant feeling of being perpetually online. I wanted to make something tangible, a space where my friends and creative community could explore new ideas, take risks, and publish the results, no matter how polished.

What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a full-scale brand and learning experiment. Through building the magazine from the ground up, I’ve significantly expanded my proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom, while also designing and launching a website, managing printing and shipping logistics, producing branded materials, executing email campaigns, growing and maintaining a subscriber list, and producing and managing social media marketing efforts.

Beyond the technical growth, the project has helped me sharpen my own voice as a writer and editor and has strengthened my ability to collaborate with intention and clarity.
The Myrtle Mosaic has become more than a physical magazine, it’s a living reflection of creative independence, community, and my evolution as a designer and creative director.
