Tao of Clay
Content Creation - Freelance
At the beginning of 2026, I collaborated with the Barrio Logan pottery studio to produce various short-form videos showcasing the events, classes, and creativity found at the studio.
Azuki Sushi X Tao of Clay

Teaser video for a Valentine's Day Event between Azuki Sushi and Tao of Clay. The event features a 5 course meal served on custom-made pottery, which participants get to take home with them.
Focused on mood, texture, ritual, or overlap between the clay pieces and food. Used upbeat, building, Tokyo jazz music as an homage to the Japanese restaurant and in order build energy and excitement for the event. Utilized sparse text to allow the caption to do the talking.
Throwing with Josh

Video showcasing the owner of the studio, and acclaimed ceramist, Josh Herman, effortlessly throwing a vase on the wheel.
Utilized wide, establishing shots, and satisfying close ups to capture the look of the studio and the focus on process and technique. Used simple, relaxing music to honor the zen-like quality of throwing clay, and the overall energy of the space. Of course I had to show off the studio mascot: Lao the cat.
Throwing Two at
Tao of Clay

Created to inspire people to enroll in "Throwing Two" at Tao of Clay. Edited with the goal of reaching an audience of both current members and prospective students from other studios. I filmed this at the studio and incorporated archival footage to create a well-rounded and engaging edit. Focused on principals of content creation for social media which helps this video feel less like an ad and more like a personal invitation.
Pit Fire

I filmed and edited this video to recap the "Pit Fire" event at Tao of Clay. This event includes taking pottery pieces to a bonfire pit at fiesta island to fire and burry in the sand to cool off, and finally unearthing them to see the final products. I was obsessed with the process, and wanted to showcase how the event itself influenced the final products.
This video showed off the talented members at the studio and was shared widely within the member community. Tao of Clay is also the only place to do this event, and this video differentiates them from other pottery studios. Filming from sunset into dark was challenging, and I am happy with how the slow motion shots blend nicely with the gooey soundtrack.
